When does the Site collect my personal information?

You may provide personal information to the Site several ways, including: (1) by sharing your e-mail address, username, physical address and phone number when registering for the Site, (2) by sharing personal information when you participate in any of our public forums, (3) by sharing personal information when you post comments on our posts or stories, (4) by participating in a survey where an email address is requested, and (5) by providing us your credit card information when you make a purchase through the Site.

In addition to basic contact information, our analytics trackers may also collect other information. This may include the operating system you are working on, the Internet browser you are using, and the screen resolution of your computer.

We may use cookies or other similar devices in order to collect information concerning your use of the Site.  Cookies are text files placed in your computer’s browser to store your preferences. How does the Site use my personal information?

We use the personal information we collect to enhance your experience on the Site and to contact you directly regarding any issue relating to your use of the Site or your sale or purchase of art through the Site.  In addition, depending on the portion of our site that you have subscribed to or interacted with, we may use your information in a number of ways.

  • The email address you provide when you register to use the Site enables us to send you a daily newsletter with information about art we hope you find interesting. This subscription is entirely opt-in by the user. We cannot subscribe you to the newsletter as you personally must have access to the email account in order to verify the subscription. Subscribers can opt-out of our newsletter at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link that is present on every email at the very bottom of the newsletter.
  • The email address provided when you register to use the Site may be used in conjunction with promotions hosted on the Site.  We may also use your personal information to contact you about offers from the Company or other parties in which we think you may have interest.
  • Email addresses provided when you register to use the Site may be used for customer service or to contact you regarding any violation of our acceptable use policy.
  • We may also share your email address or other non- personal information with third-party vendors. Such information will be used for data analytics and advertising targeting. However, we do not sell individual personal data or email addresses or allow them to be used for mailings you have not asked to receive.

You may be able to access the Site using a mobile device, either through a mobile application or a mobile web browser. When you download or use our applications or otherwise access the Site from a mobile device, we may receive information about your location and mobile device, including a unique identifier for your device, which may be used to customize the Site for your location. Most mobile devices enable you to control or disable location services in the device’s settings menu, and your choices for location services may vary depending on the mobile device that you use to access the Site.

Payment Information

If you make a purchase on the Site, you may be able to enter certain payment information, such as your credit card number, type and expiration date. We do not store credit card information entered on the Site. Such information is stored by our third party payment processor, and the use and storage of such information will be subject to the payment processor’s own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We receive certain information from our payment processor, including a unique token that we connect with your account to authorize your purchases. In certain cases, we may also receive the last four digits of the credit card number associated with your token in order to prevent fraudulent transactions or other unauthorized activity. Any credit card information entered on the Services will be encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for your protection.

Unless you give consent, at no time does any party other than the Site and its service providers working for the Site have access to your personally identifiable information. Service providers working for the Site who have access to your personal information are required to protect that information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.  The only exceptions to the foregoing are that we may disclose personally identifiable information (i) in response to legal process, for example, in response to a court order or subpoena, (ii) in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take actions regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of another person, violations of our terms of use, or as otherwise required by law, or (iii) in the event we are acquired by or merged with another company in which case, your personal information will be transferred to the acquirer in any such acquisition or the surviving company in any such merger.

When you sign up for our updates or receive e-mail messages from the Site, you will always be given the chance to opt-out of our communications. You may change your preferences at any time and will only be contacted in a manner consistent with your stated preferences.

Non-personally identifiable information (such as stated above) may be shared in aggregate form with our advertisers, business, or marketing partners but we do not share your personally identifiable information with them.

Who else has access to my personal information?

We permit advertisers to advertise on the Site.  The ads appearing on the Site are delivered to you by DoubleClick, our Web advertising serving partners. Information about your visit to this site, such as number of times you have viewed an ad (but not your name, address, or other personal information), is used to serve ads to you on this site. And, in the course of serving advertisements to this site, third party advertisers may place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser. We have also contracted with a number of advertising network partners to monitor certain pages of our website and RSS feeds for the purpose of reporting website and RSS traffic, statistics, advertisement “click-throughs,” and/or other activities on the Site. Where authorized by us, these advertising network partners may use cookies, web beacons, and/or other monitoring technologies to compile anonymous statistics about our website visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected by or transferred to these network partners.

Third parties and web sites that have links on our site may also collect or use information about you. The information practices of other companies or people that the Site does not employ or manage are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

Sites Operated by Others

The Site may include links and features that enable you to access other websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any other websites or services, and we encourage you to read the privacy policies of any other websites or services that you access. If you login to the Site through another social networking service or you link your account on the Site to your account on another social networking service, we may record your username on that service and other information that you make publicly accessible through that service, which may vary depending on your privacy settings on that service. Please note that this Privacy Policy does not apply to the privacy practices of any entities that we do not own or control, or to any people that we do not employ or manage.

Children Under 13

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from people in this age group. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from any child under the age of 13, we will promptly delete the information. Any information you share in our public forums or otherwise post to the Site becomes public information.  Even if you subsequently delete such information from the Site, it cannot be erased from the Internet.  We advise you to use your discretion in sharing information about yourself on the Internet. All information sharing is optional and done at your own risk. Privacy is a very personal matter and we encourage you to be careful and responsible when disclosing personal information online.

We advise you to take care not to disclose your username and password for the Site.  You are responsible to maintain the confidentiality of your username and password and the Company cannot be responsible for actions taken by others using your username and password.

We use security features reasonably designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access from third parties.  There is no absolute security on the Internet, however, and we cannot assure that your personal information will not be accessed without authority in a manner inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.
